His full name is Nesta Robert "Bob" Marley. In 1955, his father died of a heart attack at the age of 70years; Bob was still 10years old then.

He attended Stepney Primary and Junior High School. While in school, he had a friend named Neville Livingston (who later became Bunny Wailer).

Bob and his mum relocated to Trenchtown, Kingston, when he was 12. His mum had a daughter named Pearl Claudette with Thadeus Livingston, Bunny's father.

The two boys start collaborating on reggae music. Shortly after, they formed a band together with some friends, namely Beverly Kelso, Peter Tosh, and Junior Braithwaite.

Bob Marley was a staunch Rastafarian. Bob was married to Rita Anderson on the 10th of February, 1966, in Kingston. He has 11 children in total.

Bob Marley died on the 11th of May 1981 at age 36 in a Miami University Hospital, Florida.
